Patients qualified to use the Standing Aid must have adequate arm strength to pull themselves upward and enough leg strength to support their own weight into a standing position. Patients who meet these criteria and have difficulty walking will find the Stand Aid a useful and safe transfer/transport device. Once the patient has positioned themselves on board the split seat can easily be placed securely and allow the resident to sit comfortably while a caregiver performs the transport or transfer.
Transport functions of all kinds are quick, convenient, and require minimal caregiver assistance. The lifter is rolled up to the patient so their knees are against the padded knee supports and the back is lowered down behind the patient.
As the user grasps the middle bar and uses their own strength to pull themselves up into position the caregiver can assist by applying a downward force on the handle.
